NASA does not only send astronauts to it APOLLO missions. The astronauts are wonderful photographers, with their chest-mounted Hasselblad cameras. But they don’t just take the photos and publish them as they are. They spend a year restoring the images and making them more realistic. They use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to remove dust and scratches and to correct the colors. The result is a photo book full of high-quality photos taken in space while the history was being made.
The photos astronauts took have a strong documentary value, that’s for sure. But many of them are also artistic, beautiful, and definitely more than just snapshots.
