Nikon has unveiled the AF-S Nikkor 105mm F1.4E ED, the fastest full-frame lens of its kind with autofocus. Resistant to dust and moisture, the lens uses 14 elements in 9 groups, including 3 ED elements, along with Nano Crystal and fluorine coatings. The lens has 9 rounded aperture blades, and the aperture is electronically controlled, which keeps exposure consistent while shooting high-speed bursts. As you might expect, this is a heavy lens, weighing in at 985g/2.1lbs.

It produces stunning bokeh which is better than any other lens in the current line-up and also features instant manual-focus override. The only concern is that is comes without optical image stabilization but you can’t just beat physics.

Icing on the cake, it will work perfectly on Nikon’s recent DX line-up like Nikon D3300 , D7200 and the recently launched D500. It will work best with the Nikon FX or Full Frame line-up. Pair it with a Nikon D5 or Nikon D810 and it should be able to blow away any competition for sharpness and bokeh quality.nikon 105mm f1.4 lens sample bokehSharp and Bokehlicious by Nikon D5, f/1.4, 1/800s, ISO 3200, -0.7EV

It is optimized for use on FX cameras but will also work on the DX bodies. On a crop sensor or DX body it will work as 160 mm lens due to the crop factor. It boasts 14 optical elements in 9 groups and is multi-coated with nano-crystal coatings. Before this 85mm lens was well celebrated as a portrait lens among photographer community, but this will take the bokeh game to whole new level.
