For Huawei, a Chinese company, things don’t seem to be going right in the advertisement world. This is the third time they have been caught faking a DSLR Photo for their latest smartphone launches. It looks as if it’s a normal thing for the Chinese company now, they seem to be hardly bothered by these back to back allegations, else they wouldn’t have tried something like this the third time.

Huawei, as a part of their Upcoming smartphones P30 an P30 Pro promotion, on Mar, 26th, they shared a collection of Advertisements, stating the images were shot on the much-anticipated periscope camera system installed on the devices.

It was later on discovered, by GadgetMatch, that the image shared by Huawei was actually a DSLR shot, which the company was faking in their advertisement pretending as if they were shot using their upcoming P30 and P30 Pro smartphones.

While running a back trace, GadgetMatch, revealed, that the image used actually is a stock image, which was shot by Tom Pfeiffer, back in 2009.

Once these allegations became public, Huawei, released an official statement like always, that the photos used are just for representational purposes for their upcoming P30 series Smartphones. Here is the Comments made by Huawei on the issue:

“We’ve been made aware that there might have been some misunderstanding regarding our recent HUAWEI P30 Series teaser posters. We would like to reiterate that those are, in fact, only teaser posters, and are only intended to hint at the unique new features that will come with the HUAWEI P30 Series. Huawei has acquired the licenses to the original images and the posters are artistic renditions of said features only. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the media for their interest in our posters. We have much to announce in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned!”

In other 2 instances, they were caught faking a DSLR Photo for their P9 series back in 2016 and in 2018 for Nova 3 and 3i Smartphones.

We hope Huawei, takes necessary steps to ensure that customers are not fooled like this to believe in something what their latest launches are not even remotely capable of. In this modern digital market, customers are in a constant search of Smartphones which can deliver their basic Photography needs. A little honesty would definitely be appreciated by buyers.
