Sony has announced its latest interchangeable lens camera, the Sony A7R III. The new Sony A7R III is equipped with a 42.4 megapixel Sony Exmor R image sensor. The Sony A7R III can shoot 4K video and can also shoot Full HD video at up to 120 frames per second.

Sony posted the full specs of the Sony A7rIII:

  1. Approximately 42.4 million effective pixels 35mm full-frame Exmor R CMOS back-illuminated image sensor
  2. Sensitivity range: ISO100-ISO3200 (extended to 102400)
  3. In autofocus/auto exposure tracking mode, continuous shooting frame rate up to about 10 / sec
  4. The autofocus speed is increased by about 2 times, with the coke speed increased by about 2 times and support the focus control tracking
  5. Support dual media slot
  6. 399 focal plane phase detection focus
  7. 14bit RAW
  8. 15 stops Dynamic Range
  9. Battery capacity increased by about 2.2 times
  10. USB 3.1 Gen 1 is compatible with USB Type-CTM connector and flash terminal is synchronized
  11. The α7R III can capture outstanding 4K high-resolution motion images with 5K (15MP) oversampling, as well as a new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) image configuration file,
Support real-time HDR workflow can capture a wide dynamic range of high-precision fresh dynamic images, no color gradient processing.
  12. In the α7R III on the new pixel conversion multiple shooting modes, make full use of the fuselage 5-axis anti-shake function, to achieve high-resolution images. In this mode, the camera moves in 1-pixel increments and shoots four separate pixel moving images, containing a total of about $ 99.44 million pixel data. The four images can be synthesized and processed using the software from the new Imaging Edge Intelligent Imaging Application Center. This mode allows for higher resolution and color accuracy of still images, which is more ideal for shooting themes with complex details and colors for architecture, artwork, or other still life.

In the area of video, the a7R III can shoot 4K video across the width of the full-frame sensor. It can also shoot Super 35mm format with full pixel readout without pixel binning for 5K worth of data and then oversample it for impressive 4K footage.
